Hope I don't get band for being suspicious, but why is there a Smalley's please help thread locked and stickied onto the top of ATOT?

I had to read it a couple of times, missed the history too, but seems like a scam to me. Anyone here feel the same way or do you actually believe him?

 
First off, losing the use of the internet would likely be more detrimental to the unemployed than the cost of access (plus they may be under contract).

Second, you should address your concerns to the mods.

This isn't the place for it.

Well, if you'd read the thread that was in OT previously, the one in Distributed Computing and the long one in FS/FT, you'd realize you now suffer from foot-in-mouth disease 😉

Besides...you think the mods would allow a sticky of a scam?

I don't even know who the Smalleys are or why they are broke, but I imagine that if what you say is true, they probably won't be online for much longer.
 
Dial - up access is available with simple phone service. Not everyone has broadband. Universal Lifeline service still allows them to access the Internet.

Wait! Why am I getting hammered by your for questioning the thread? I just wanted to know the opinions of ATOT members. Addressing the MODS would be a different issue alltogether. Maybe I will address them if enough members feel its a scam. If not, there's not issue.

Like I mentioned, I haven't been following their history. But foot-in-mouth? Please link.

But, okay, I'll bite. So lets say this was indeed real. Doesn't allowing this type of thread and stickying them on top of ATOT lead to future threads with pleas for help?

This isn't the place for it. PM's, another forum, whatever, but this isn't the place.

I personally don't have any feelings on it either way, I'm broke as hell + I don't know them so it's kind of pointless for me to even debate it.

That Yamaha is just like the one I had...'78 750XS. Would love to have one again but don't have the funds right now. :frown:
