Anyone else find it odd that Leper Messiah and Son of a N00b claim to know so much about a thread that came about over 2.5 years before they even joined?

I know about it becuase I lurked for a bit...but I actually was not around then..I know it from members that are actually nice and will tell you things when you ask, and not say STFU N00B!......in otherwords rossman

plus the thread is still around and I read all the pages.makes for some good light reading

EDIT: he told me about it in the ATOT history thread I made...they sent me on n00b quests

There are lurkers among us, young padawan.
Some of them are hydralisks, some are mere zerglings, but they lurk all the time on intraweb forums.

No question the greatest thread ever was when Dennil came clean. Man that thread had everything. Anger, remorse, people who found it funny, those who wished he would drop dead, you had folks pitted against each other over what he did, that thread truly embodied the term virtual world. While it brought out all kinds of stuff, while unfortunate, the thread was awesome. I will be 90 years old I will never ever forget that thread. Dennilfloss is one online name that literally became infamous overnight. In some ways speaking I feel like a part of a lil internet history.

link?

No link, the thread got booted. The Register had a story on it, though. Google it 🙂

been off and on here since I joined and I remember the denniflos thing but never heard how it ended until today. also, I don't remember the thread posted in the edited OP. oh well, life happens.

and no, I can't seem to think of a good flame war as of yet. maybe a few in FI though

wasn't there a follow up thread on how Texmaster got caught supposely signing that guy up to a lot of porn?

wow..didnt know it was THAT big

that was sweet. i wish he would have just stopped it at making a point that a LOT of the male posters here don't know how to be at all civil/normal around women.

Not sure if it was locked, but the one from Docsmarts about setting his PC on fire and it all being AMD's fault was the peak of ATOT flamewar.

Must have been 500 posts in 5 hours or so. The idiot even cross posted it in CPU/Processor and General Hardware and Motherboard forums.

Some of the replies were most hilarious.

This may sound dumb, but to be honest this even today plagues this "community". People are afraid to talk about here too. I don't even believe its a done issue either.

PCResources posting about his death in Afghanistan using the name NicklasReugen. PCResources was an amazing person. Swedish Army Commando on loan to U.S. Special Forces, multi-millionaire, motorcycle racer, computer innovator (Arc-welded an AMD and Pentium motherboard together and made a supercomputer, really!), and all around James Bond type.

The thread.

Actually, I think the flame thread was spun-off from that one and may have been deleted.
