One day, man will no longer walk the earth. Why? Assume that when the big event happens we will not have mastered interplanetary travel.

There isn't a choice for nothing happening. I'm not saying a few of those things might not happen but I think the human race is pretty damn resilient and will find a way to live through just about anything.

OK, I added the choice. Humans are resilient, but also quite fragile compared to, say, a rhino.

That will happen eventually, but I figure that since we have about 5 billion years before it happens we'll either be extinct or colonizing other planets.

How about overpopulation to the point that we run out of natural resources.

not a single enviromental disaster, but a complete failure of the enviroment to support the Human race. this won't instantly lead to the extinction of man, but it will lead to wars and disease.
