Poll: The extinction of man

One day, man will no longer walk the earth. Why? Assume that when the big event happens we will not have mastered interplanetary travel.

There isn't a choice for nothing happening. I'm not saying a few of those things might not happen but I think the human race is pretty damn resilient and will find a way to live through just about anything.

What about getting sucked into the sun ?

That will happen eventually, but I figure that since we have about 5 billion years before it happens we'll either be extinct or colonizing other planets.

give an "other" option

edit: oops i didn't see the no interplanetary travel restriction. but an other option would still be nice, for other ppl

Riiight. Over 99% of the species that have EVER LIVED are extinct. You think we are some great exception?

Humans (or their evolutionary equivalent) will have populated other planets and the Earth will die.

the post says assuming no interplanetary travel

I vote plague.. diseases and infections are conforming around our medicine and pretty soon we won't be able to cure some of them, in turn leading to MANY deaths...

but not unless Nuclear Holocaust happens first!! 😛

Yeah, I was kind of thinking of things that might happen in our lifetimes, since actually being able to colonize other planets could take centuries.

With plagues you generally have someone that shows and immunity or at least a lesser reaction.

All it takes is one nuke used on another country with a nuke. Then they will all start flying back and forth and what little humanity is left will die from starvation, disease, etc.

Evolution- into something else- something we wouldn't define as "human". Quite possibly natural, or helped by science-

Maybe the transfer of human intelligence into machines...

How about overpopulation to the point that we run out of natural resources.

not a single enviromental disaster, but a complete failure of the enviroment to support the Human race. this won't instantly lead to the extinction of man, but it will lead to wars and disease.

That is what I think.

I tried to vote but I get a Page cannot be found error😕 - Anyone else getting that?

Unless the earth is destroyed, I seriously doubt that it would be possible to wipe the planet clean of humans.

Hell, I can't even rid my house of ants, and they're fuggin retarded.
