<< Meijer is a nice store. Used to go there a lot when visiting family in Ohio. >>

Gah. I can't stand Meijer...so disorganized, so huge...it's like a giant maze. It takes me an hour to buy anything in there.

The Wal-Marts that I've been in have always been clean and well organized, easy to find everything.
The Target here is also very clean and well organized, but it's small and overpriced, not much selection, and they don't carry half of the stuff I'm looking for.

I use both. My preference lead towards Target simply because there are Targets everywhere. There is only one Walmart within 15mile radius.

Wal-Mart, only because it's open at 3 in the morning which is when I'm more likely to be out.

Target has the best prices on CD's and DVD's

Yet I think Wally world has the best prices overall and with a supercenter around I can go some grocery shopping to

Wal-Mart fo' sho'!

The Zellers around me are pretty ghetto (although they are building a new huge one, we'll see), and their prices aren't as good as WalMart.

"Target no doubt. Each time I go in walmart I curse it to mrs. skoorb about how much I hate it. Reasons:

1) Crowded. Very crowded isles trying to buy groceries.
2) Useless staff. I asked TWO people where the ice cream cones were and they had no idea. Upon further examination I came to realize that walmart didn't sell any. Did the target across the street? Damn right. I had to finish my shopping there in fact.
3) Lineups. Oh god the lineups. Man, these are brutal any time on any day. I have yet to go to a cashier at walmart and not have to wait in line - often LONG ones.
4) Dirtier. The super target here is new and has nice stuff. Walmart just feels used like the dirty whore it is."

I third that! ;) I have not ever shopped at Wal-Mart except once (and then the other time I went to the store with a family friend). On the other hand, I'm a Target regular. I feel it's worth it. When I shopped at Wal-Mart and whenever I just went to check things out, I felt as though the items in the store were of inferior quality. And then Wal-Mart has very sluggish employees. Lastly, the store usually appears so untidy. I think the same is true of K-Mart. Contrast that with Target where things are reasonably priced, though a little above Wal-Mart, the store is neat and there are several employees with so many registers to ring the items.

Anyway, I would and still do go to Target for the aforementioned reasons. ;)

Same experience for Mrs. RossMAN and I except ours has no groceries, or at least no perishable items.

Yes the prices are the lowest on the planet (except compared to CostCo for some items), but it's always jam packed, there's never a sales clerk around to help you, and the lines are very very very long. Today I had to buy a 98 cent spray bottle, we went to the Sporting Goods/Hunting department which had no customers waiting in line, paid for it and ran out the door.

Oh and the parking lot, that's another whole rant.

Overall I prefer Target and their employees aren't that bad looking either ;)

(wife glares at me)

Oops I voted for the wrong one (hit Target instead of Wal-Mart). You'd think since I work at Wal-Mart I'd rather go to Target since I know firsthand how much it sucks. But being an employee actually works in my advantage. You know what you're doing. You don't have to ask where stuff is, because you already know, so no messing with salespeople. Also (and this goes for everyone) you can check out at jewelry, sporting goods, electronics, garden center, etc. no matter what you have. That's how you avoid the huge lines up front. Well I take that back, you can't go through sporting goods or jewelry if you have anything weighable because they don't have scales. Other than that though, it makes no diff, just try to make sure you have less than 15-20 items. When I go on break/lunch and buy stuff to eat I almost always go through electronics because the express lines up front are swamped. And the last thing is I get an employee discount at Wal-Mart.

Wal-mart for me. Shopped there ever since I was young and to tell the truth I feel more "at home" there (no matter if it's even a wal-mart I've been to before. it's just wal-mart. ).

If price is the only factor, nobody beats Walmart. But if you want convenience and a nicer atmosphere, the Super Target stores are really nice.
