About as stupid as you look for getting all of the spyware in the first place. People in corporate IT have to use Restore because they also have to use IE. Use FireFox and you get no spyware, then you don't need restore either.
As to the original question, hell no I don't use it. Most people who know what they're doing don't. And yes it does eat quite a bit of resources, try removing it and all the other useless MS crap under services.msc - like Indexing, Auto Update, etc. - and you will notice a difference. Start up time is faster, overall the OS feels lighter and quicker.
