POLL: Stats appearance question...

I've been experimenting with changing the appearance of the UI for the stats. I'm thinking of a navbar menu down the left side, about 20% of the width of the page, and then the content in the remaining 80%. Check out these and vote...

#1 - status quo LINKY

#2 - first option LINKY

#3 - second option LINKY

#4 - you don't like any of them and will send me a mockup of what you like 🙂

#5 - you don't care just as long as you have your stats...

Don't go beyond the first page as I didn't change any of them and they're a bit screwed up...

Geoff

They all look the same apart from a couple of different colours....😕

Edit: Upon further inspection, the only changes I can see is that the overall/last day changes from "side-by-side" to "one after the other". I prefer "side-by-side"

well... there are differences in the background, and the rounding of the corners on the section headers... I guess it's not as dramatic as I thought it would be!

Oh yeah...now you mention it I can see the differences...i think I prefer the original colours 🙂

i voted for #2 because i like the differing colors. personally it makes it more pleasing to the eyes and isnt so bright for me. then again i have an all black desktop and like the darkest possible icons on my computer because i dont like bright colors. i think #2 looks great 🙂

I like #2 for pretty much exactly the same reasons as Unforgiven, the dark and light blues just seem to work better for me🙂

Hey Geoff, he if I create a design do you think you could implement it for me? Or heck, if you give me a copy of your current pages I can create them and then you can add the database connection code. 🙂 (Also I would not setup any sort of adding of nodes in the design so there should be no worry about messing up the database. 🙂 )

I could try! It's really just the stylesheet that I would need... if you want to see my messed up one, just go to any of the stats links and replace, for example, d2ol/main.php with d2ol/stylesheet.css. If you want to mock one up somewhere, I'd gladly take a look at it and let the community have their say, of course! 🙂

Sounds good. The design I have in mind would actually move some things around so the code would change a little. (Just the table sizes and such.) 🙂

Bring it on! I'm thinking of putting a navbar on the left anyway and changing the way the Overall & Yesterday tables are displayed... I'm thinking of a tabbed display instead of side-by-side, and also using the concept of bars to display progress like on the DPAD stats site... adds a visual element to the numbers 🙂

I was really busy yesterday reffing a women's ice hockey tournement here in Burlington so I didn't notice the stats were down... I'll swing by work within the hour and get them up and running again. I suspect the daily rollovers haven't run either, so I'll run them manually 🙂
