Poll: Spring Break

Back when I was in high school and college it seemed like a lot of the northern states seemed to go on Spring Break early in March while the southern states seemed to wait until late March or even early April. I guess being cooped up in the snow and real cold all winter you need the break sooner. But from a beach perspective, pretty much all the beaches on the Gulf coast and a lot of the beach areas except from maybe Daytona Beach southward still have pretty cool weather that time of the year. Nothing like what people from Ohio were coming from, but usually it was still too cold to be walking around in a swimsuit without having your nipples shoot off.

I lived in Maine for about two years. We'd get winter break in Feb, and Spring break in April. In Texas we always got out mid March, no winter break, but school got out a month earlier than it did in Maine.

When I was at Tulane, they'd alternate every year. One year, Spring Break would be combined with Mardi Gras break, so you'd get the whole week off. The next year, Spring Break would be the week before Easter.
