<< I never believed in Santa >>

I was raised with the "true" reason for Christmas.

you mean where the Catholic church was trying to convert a group of "sinners", so they took thier holiday, said Jesus was born on it, and said they were then practicing a Christian holiday?
>>

No you silly boy. The real reason for christmas is to get presents and have an excuse to sleep with our significant others. I'm thankful every day that my computer has no sharp edges.

No, actually it is religion. The Church controlled the people, king included. So whatever wishes the king had, could not contradict those of the Church. Looks like SOMEBODY needs to get in a time machine and go back to the inquistion period... "Who's yo daddy? I SAID WHO'S YO DADDY!?"

<< It's not "religion" it's "the Catholic church". Get it right. And, it wasn't "disagreeing with the church" that got you imprisoned or killed. It was disagreeing with the current king's wishes that got you that. Get it right *again*.

for some reason i dont remember when exactly i knew. It was a soft transition because there was always so much going on durring the holidays.

Now, the easter bunny on the other hand...was very traumatizing!

I was raised knowing that Santa didn't exist, but my grandparents thought that we should believe in santa claus, so my grandfather dressed up as Santa (he's got the santa stomach), and came over. I answered the door and was scared out of my mind. I went and hid in the pantry.

I just had an INCREDIBLE idea!

Here's the plan...

First, you are to take your stupid, flame-war-starting, fvckheaded opinion, and, stuff it up your ass(after pulling your head out), and throw yourself into the nearest Asshole Can. Then, I shall laugh, and all will be happy.

Sound good?

Great!

Wow, who's starting a flame war here?
Notfred was technically correct; the birthday of Jesus is not even close to December 25...

I think i was around 7. My mom told me all in one day that there was no Santa, Easter Bunny, or Tooth Fairy. I wasn't really devastated since I figured it out on my own about a year prior.

I still remember the feeling I got when I did believe though...and how I had to rush to bed in time because if I didn't, Santa wouldn't come! We would hear noises on the roof and think it was the reindeer. Even if you're religious, I don't think it's something you should deprive your child of. I can't wait to have kids and see that "magical" excitement that they'll get on christmas eve.
