First off, it's slashdot.ORG, not slashdot.net!

Slashdot is a half decent site, if you can look past their pro-Linux and anti-MS biases. The site is owned by a Linux software development company, and it shows both their editorials and choice of stories that they post on their homepage.

The thing that bothers me the most, however, is that many of their editors are total hypocrites. They'll post story opon story about how evil big corporations like Microsoft and AOL-Time Warner are, but they'll also be the first people to post news stories about the release of new Lord of Rings and X-Box products! Can you say "Confilct of Interest?!?" I like some of the cool stories that they post, but I have no respect for the editors like CmdrTaco who can't "practice what they preach".

The site has lost its touch over the years.

Besides, a good number of them are one sided, defending open source like ... saliors to women in a new port of call.
