I don't really care what ugly theme they ship with it. I'll switch it back to whatever they're calling the "Windows Classic" theme at that time. I don't need my computer to look like a child's toy.

Vista was epic fail (ok, you have to admit, there are way more vista haters then lovers) so wonder if windows 7 will do better.

tbh, the vast majority of vista haters are bandwagoners who have no practical experience with the OS.

some have legitimate complaints, i suppose.

btw, anyone know if litestep works on vista x64 yet?

I switched back to XP after the second time I got an unrepairable "No OS found" error with Vista. Since I was forced to format again I just went back to a more stable OS. Hopefully they've improved it since then, but I don't really miss any of Vista's new features. If they gave me something I cared about, I might be inclined to upgrade.

lol... the file copy procedures in vista was enough reason for me to switch.

What about it? It's faster? Or it gives you more useful information when files are copying? If I'm doing a large file transfer (not often) I'll usually use Robocopy.

I think the Win3.1 theme is just fine. Paying an arm and a leg for just another OS from MS with no reason to upgrade with a price inflated because they had to pay some tard to design a new interface that's more convoluded than ever? Hell no.

Hot dog stand > standard Windows 3.1 theme

I use bricopack on my XP rigs to make them look like I got VISTA :), do like the new look to it and sounds, but thats as far as my love for VISTA goes.
Not in any huge way wanting to go with vista over xp, or even 7. I tried vista few days ago and found so many bugs with my programs I use daily, and some games, I even updated it all, and still got things not working right, and the click 5 billion times if I want to move a file, or delete a file, got really annoying for me big time, so the new windows 7 release. I think I can still make due without having Direct X 10 in my games to have a stable working as I want/used to OS till I start reading people saying stuff really works now. Other then that, it can pack my ass with sunshine and quarters and happy joy joy feelings all day long, if it doesnt work right, I can care less about it, let alone how it might sound when it starts up or I click on shit.

it doesnt immediately stop the entire file transfer if i change how i want it to handle a conflict.

I see Microsoft being in a lose lose situation on this.

They change it, and everyone says, MS made me pay for a new os and all they did was change how it looks

They don't change it, and everyone says, this should have been a vista service pack, they look exactly the same.
