Where's the Hell Yes!! option? :p

Suffice it to say, I want to get off this rock and away from the bickering an infighting of a lot of its residents. (Not aimed at ATOT specifically)

It it were just to go to the moon for the sake of doing that, then no. But if we had some longer term goal in mind then sure.

I say just hitch a ride off the Chinese/Russians/European Space Agency should they decide to go.

I think there should be an answer for those that believe the whole moon landing was staged :)

i would definately like to see more space exploration, but NOT at this cost. they should use the $$$ pouring into the space program to stimulate the economy.

but hey, if you can make it to the moon again without the $$$ sacrafice, go for it. i dont see how landing on the moon again can bring new benefits anymore.

i dont agree, but some people would say, why go to the moon? its been done 50 years ago and going now just shows your inferiority.

Why on Earth would someone vote no to something like this?

I mean.. what harm could it do? All we're going to do is learn.

well
it would cost lots of money.
and it would probably look pretty stupid to many in this country, not to mention the rest of the world having started two wars that we dont seem to really know when they are going to end, dont even know what sort of money, troops, clear plan for the future, etc is needed to get things going.
also, it could be seen as quite pointless.

Hmm.. Good point.

Maybe the Bush administration will start a PR/advertisement campaign telling of the goals etc. ;)

Going to the moon is the only way to perfect technologies that would allow people to live long-term on mars, and it would also allow us to launch bigger payloads cheaply because of less gravity, easier to launch stuff from there or the space station than from earth.

If you're under 31 or so you-all weren't even alive when the US was on the Moon.

The 60's were sort of a magical time because of the moon landing, I want us to go back & on to Mars.

I would say that has more to do with the drugs than the moon landing.

What for going back to the moon?

Such a waste of money.
Repair the economy, and go straight to the mars or just keep the money.

NASA sometimes is bull-shit
Nothing great come up from NASA actually, it's just a waste of money.

True ignorance.

I think we should stop the war with Iraq and concentrate more on space if that's an option. Yes, NASA is costly but the amount of knowledge that can be gained is worth lots more than that.
