As your dog would say if he can talk to humans.. YES.

Emotion should not overrule logic. My answer is no, given that verdicts administered by the court are not infallible.

I don't even think murderers should be executed.

20 years max for murder.
15 years max for rape.
<15 years for other offences.

There are too many cases of the girl accusing the guy of rape just to get back at him for something. It's pretty obvious if someone got murdered whereas it isn't nearly as obvious if someone was raped. This being the case, I don't think they should be executed.

What if they are wrongfully accused? Like the people who just recently got out of jail due to dna samples?

well then chalk one up for "margin of error". whoops! our bad.

Spanky raped my friend. Burn him at the stake.

I'd go along with "three strikes you're out."

Anyone convicted multiple times of sexual assault is not likely to be treatable, and it's very, very unlikely they're been wrongly convicted multiple times.

that bastard!

no. I believe the punishment should fit the crime. Rapists should be castrated and rarely (if ever) paroled. Execution should only be considered if the victim is a child or elderly as they are especially vulnerable to such assaults.

note: this is assuming that the accused is (without a doubt) PROVEN to be guilty,

They have plenty of time to sit on death row to have hundreds of dna tests run nowadays before being offed.

If prosecution and conviction were fair and infallible, sure. But they're not. It's bad enough to hear about people being released from prison after twenty-plus years of sering time for a crime they were wrongly convicted of.

Hearing that a person is exonerated AFTER they were executed would just be...terrible.

Death is too much for that crime. I don't think the punishment for committing a murder should be the same as that of a rape.
