I want to, because I love them.

I don't want to, because it's a hassle to bring the sub and five satellites back and forth, and it'll be very tough to fit them in a room of about 11x11 for two people.

I think the decision really hinges on whether or not I can get headphones that satisfy me as much as much as the Klipsch does. Is this possible or will no cans produce that kind of bass?

 
Bring them geez. You WILL miss them, and having no speakers sucks, unless you are that antisocial that you never ever have people in your room ever.
 
Only if you disconnect the sub, or leave the bass at it's lowest setting. Nothing pisses me off quicker than someone in a residential building with a sub going.
 
Yeah bring them, although prepare to get an f load of noise violations. BTW you can mount the speakers on the walls, you don't have to put all 6 on your desk heh. Oh, and Sennheiser makes some very nice headphones.

Campus safety or police will knock on your door then. It's very rude and inconsiderate. What if people are working on a project or trying to study for a big test? People that play loud music never think about that.

Campus Safety comes and tells you turn it down. If you turn it back up I call again. People get in trouble here if there are alot of complaints.
 
I'd be moving them four times a year, fall and spring, and for Christmas break, which is five to six weeks, so I wouldn't leave them at the dorm then.

I could use the wall mounts but the room itself will still be crowded, for wires, the sub, etc.

But honestly, what's the point in bringing them if I'd really get as many complaints as you say? Then I wouldn't be able to use them how I really want to.

Also, I'm not concerned with playing music for others, only for myself. Considering that, would a good pair of headphones be just as great, or no?

Aw cry me a fvcking river. I lived in the dorms for 2 years and there are definitely good things and bad things about it, but you just learn to put up with sh!t like that.
 
Yes.. do it. I bought Logitech Z-680s when I got to school.. my room mate doesn't mind and when he does I just unplug them and listen on my laptop speakers.

Freshman punks need to learn that college is about studying and learning. If they want to play music fine, but I don't need to hear it all hours of the day.

You won't be getting as many complaints as they are saying *unless* you live on a quiet floor, then maybe but doubtful so long as you use them at decent hours. You will however miss not having speakers though, I promise you. And what happens when you get people over in your room, but I guess for some of you that really isnt a concern! 😀

wtf is campus safety. Around here it would take the entire floor complaining before someone came to "warn" you.
 
But all of you who say to do it, is it because you often play music for others? If it was only for you, would really good headphones be fine?

That's the big question, can any headphones be just as good? I thought a lot of people actually preferred headphones.

And a lot of you say that your roommates just don't mind. Well...mine might. I don't want to "guess" that they won't and just bring them, maybe for nothing.

Yeah, but doing good in classes is the only thing that is truely important. I have a gf and friends, but my class work is still important.

Our campus police/ambulance department. All it takes a single phone call from anyone and a squad cr will be outside the building in a few minutes.

Omg grow some nuts man, this isn't looking good. Don't let your roommate run the place. Also don't be that whiny assed person that complains all the time and no one likes to live with, but you two are going to have to live with each other and you don't want him to walk all over you.

My advice, bring the speakers, get a case of beer, play some music, and you and your new roommate get fvcked up playing Top Spin and get to know each other.
