Absolutely. The more ppl that subscribe the cheaper it should get.

Actually, the Law of Supply and Demand says that if people don't buy the product, the price goes down. The more people that buy the product, the price goes up. One encourages the customer to buy more of the product. The other takes advantage of the customer's already buying more of the product. So... if nobody pays for the service, the price should eventually drop to get our sorry asses to pay for what we're using. And, if everybody pays, then Anand, by the rules of that law, would raise the price to take advantage of so many people subscribing.

Now... who's to say that Anand isn't just a really nice guy and won't work it the opposite way? I dunno... but that's what I learned in my econ classes. :)

Forum subscription would not fall under regular supply and demand laws.

There is essentially an unlimited supply of subscriptions - Anybody who wants one can have one.

Demand, though, could affect the price. Anand has set what he is willing to support free of charge. Anyone can have that for free without costing him any more money. Them not subscribing is not forcing him to lower his prices.

The only two situations where demand could affect the price is:

1) The number of subscribers is not enough to support the added cost of the subscriber connection. From the traceroutes I've seen I believe the forums are all running off of the same connection - so the additional cost is likely negligible. If, however, the reduced revenue by lowering the price would be offset by a larger number of subscriptions sold he would benefit from lowering the price.

2) The number of subscribers exceeds the number required to break even, & out of the kindness of his heart he lowers the price to reduce his profit. Not likely, as he is a business - He wants to make money.

Personally, the price is perfect where it is. I would have gladly paid more, yet I don't feel guilty for paying too little.
