The now discontinued NP8890V. Has served me quite well. From the end-user reports I have read and my own limited experience (a few hours demo), the NP8790 is an excellent machine.

The NP9860 should be released within that time frame. More information available here, and at the Notebookforums link contained therein.

Good luck with your impending purchase.

Yes, the T series rock, unless you're a gamer. The video chipest choices are kinda lame. I've had two of them, though, and they're both good systems.

My T42 has a raedeon 9600 64mb dedicated.

It runs bf1942/bfv very well

Previously a Dell Inspiron 8100 owner.
Currently a T42p owner. (have it FS but actually hopes nobody makes me an offer so I don't have to sell it 'cause I know I'll miss it. )

I just got a 700M on Monday, I love it. I'm coming off of a T21. I don't use it as my main rig, just for the portable stuff. :)

I just got a 700m from the sale a few weeks back, and I also have a T42 from work. I like them both equally but the 700m is better for taking around campus.... I would love to get a X40 though

I had 700m and a 6-months old R40, remember the R40 is quite a bit bigger than the 700m, and I still chose R40 over 700m. There is something about these thinkpad, once you get one you will never go back again.
