If you look a couple of posts up, he can't even afford a new Tiburon. The WRX is nearly twice as expensive.

Get a Tiburon over the RSX... whats the point in getting yet another Honda making them less than a dime a dozen.. the RSX sucks anyways, it's ugly and slow.

Sorry, I meant "twice as expensive as what he can afford"... looks like he wants to spend around $12K and the WRX is at least $24K.

Edit: although I'm not crazy about the styling myself... it looks alright, but it's definitely not slow (at least, not the RSX-S).

Edit 2: Text lists the regular RSX at 7.0 seconds for 0-60. 6.18 for Type-R, 6.50 for RSX-S.

That's not slow at all. Maybe it's not comparable to a Z28 or Cobra, but it's definitely not slow and it'll get much better mileage than those cars. ;)

Uhhhh.... The base RSX is very much a competitor to what he is looking at. Plus being 300lbs lighter will make up for that 10hp advantage, never mind being a better built more comfortable car that gets better gas mileage and will HOLD its value better. (sorry for the run-on, I am lazy at the moment)

I test drove a 2002 Tib GT V6 -- That thing ROCKS! Get one man!

Currently, I have a 2001 Tib I4 (I think it's inline..? :|) and it's been great to me.. You can tell it's cheap in *some* aspects, but in others, it's really nice. One thing I don't like though, are the seats...they aren't as comfortable as they could be... and the ride *can* be bumpy sometimes.. But other than that, it's nice. :D

I call BS on the claim of Ferrari helping with development, they're probably making it up based off the fact that the new Tiburon looks a lot like a 456...

Anyway, ON TOPIC, they are pretty nice little cars. The only Hyundai that will turn my head.

If you like it, & can afford it (the important part), go for it.

Perhaps I should have worded it "I too call BS..."

ah heck off, I agreed with you.

My sister is in the process of getting a new car - she drove the Tiburon and in terms of backseat room, there is ABSOLUTELY NONE (I should know, I had to squeeze in there).

She's in the process of getting a 2003 RSX (non-Type-S).

I think that the engine on the GT sucks. ONly 170HP from a V6 :frown: While the styling is nice, I would rather but a car with a little more umph.

Used spec v
$13K
175 HP
185 Tq

If you know how to drive, which the edmunds people can't, you can get mid 6 second 0-60. And people are able to hit low 15's in the quarter mile.
