i think he should be kicked off because he's a boring egomaniac, but not because he's lewd.

i think it's funny he's so obsessed with his voice. just so you know, that "deep" effect you hear when he speaks isn't because he has an especially deep voice. it's the "proximity effect." this is something common to all condensor microphones (think studio mics). when you get closer than 8 inches to the mic, you get a pronounced bass boost. howard practically has it down his throat in order to maximize this effect.

I never liked Stern. Hope this is the beginning of the end. All he appeals to his weak, sexual minded clowns. He is a flat out joke. The women are trash. There is nothing about this idiot I find funny or even worth listening too. :p

I appreciate that you don't like him, but i don't agree that he appeals only to the weak and sexually minded. Other than the strippers, and lewd stuff, i love how he mocks current affairs and has fun with the mundane stuff in life. Also, the chemistry of the entire team rocks! It's plain funny.

Cliffnotes: I like Stern and am not Weak in Mind!

he should not be kicked off...

now today he was saying how there will be massive fines for a show he did 3 years ago...come on...

but it seems howard has gotten older and started to give in to the pressure of people doing this all the time to him....10 or 20 years ago he would be fighting this with every effort, now he seems to be giving in, maybe looking forward to not waking up so early everyday :)

ehh OK but you are missing the whole point of the thread. This isn't about whether you like Howard or you think he is an egomaniac or not funny its about whether you think the goverment should take him off of the air because his material is lewd and indecent. I can appreciate the fact that you don't like Howard Stern. Its your opinion and I respect that but this issue isn't about like or dislike its about our Rights as Americans. I have used this analogy before but I hate most rap music and I think that all it does is glorify the life of a "gansta" but in keeping with my political beliefs would never say it should be taken off of the air or out of the music stores. Instead I just change the channel when its on tv or radio I and don't buy the albums. Pretty simple concept. Image that I have a choice to change the station. Yes folks radios do have dials and buttons that change the station.

Ok, so you don't like him. That's all well and good. Don't listen. What about the millions that do? The majority has to suffer because the minority doesn't like something? Where do you stand on him being possibly forced out by the FCC? Where's your stance on that? You really condone someone's livelyhood being taken away from them because they spoke out against George Dubbleya? Like Stern or not, the sad fact is, everything he has said regarding our 'wonderful' government should be looked into. Put your closedmindedness aside for an hour, and download todays show. Some things he brought up today about certain members of our congress will really leaving you scratching your head in awe. They're all a bunch of fvcking hypocrites (sp, don't care, my bloods boiling about this whole issue).

I voted No, as quoted above, thats also what I think is going on.... Bush millions and minions flexing their muscle.....

Clear Channel is not the problem.
The FCC is not the problem.
Christians...there is your problem.

This is how it works. Psycho Christians call in and voice their complaints to the FCC logging written and verbal complaints by the butt load. The FCC feels the public pressure, and with their own religious background (more than likely Christian background) feel compelled to right a "wrong." So then the FCC comes down on Clear Channel fining the sh!t out of them for whatever they can dream up. Since Clear Channel is being fined so harshly, they have no choice but to fire Howard although his ratings are usually at the top of the charts. Make No mistake, this all started with Janet Jackson and the SuperBowl. She fired off such a loud religious outcry for "decency," it has rippled out to ALL media outlets. This is not a matter of if you like Howard Stern or not, it is about your most precious freedom taken away from you, your freedom of speech.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to do my part and harass the street corner Christians tonight. :)

And you should be kicked off ATOT because you're a troll. Stay out of the damn thread if you have nothing unidiotic to say.

He couldn't go into specifics since its a pending court case. But he basically said that when he said it that it wasn't against FCC regulations but then they changed the legislation and went back and find him on this comment. I think it may have been something negative against GW based on his comments afterwood about people getting canned for having bad opinions of the President.

He made some very good points today. The FCC fines you for being "obscene" which has no true definition. The station appeals and wants it in court to determine what obscene actually is. The FCC then starts dragging its feet when that stations license comes up for renewal. It sure sounds like a huge scam.
