You should probably word your question better. Someone could answer both with the same meaning.

From what point of view? The "Traditionalist" point of view or the new fangled "I am a touchy feely man in touch with my feminine side" point of view?
 
If her intent is to kill or severely injure me (remove a limb or something of that nature), I will swing at her. If she's just slapping or throwing light punches, then I'm not gonna hit her. Call me an asshole if you will, but if someone is trying to kill me I don't care if they're male or female, I'll do what it takes to stop them.

Just like any other absolutist statement, this question is absurd if held to its logical end. It is general courtesy and the mark of a good person that refrains from unwanted, painful physical contact with another human being. It is also the mark of a good, mature person to discourage the infliction thereof upon oneself.

If she was intent on beating my ass down, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up the heaviest object withing arms reach and swing/throw/or jab it at her. I would then procede to haul ass.

Usually no, but I wouldn't hesitate to fight back if some big burly mean beyotch started in on me for no good reason! It's self defense, ya know!
 
I there was some chick that had a knife at my throat I would have no problem knocking her out. ( Assumming she didn't slice me first 😕 )

 
If I were to hit someone, I would fully expect them to try to hit me back... therefore, if a woman tries to fight a man, she should expect to get hit.
However, I don't believe anyone should hit another person, I think it's ridiculous - male or female.
