Poll: Shoes on or off in the house?

I think it'll mostly depend on what ethnicity rules the house. I'm sure that Asian and other cultures prefer to take their shoes off.

We don't. Before entering the house I'll usually wipe my feet once or twice on the welcome mat, we make sure the house is vacuumed, etc.

Besides living with 2 dogs, the house is never always clean.

Werd.

If someone comes tromping into my house out of the snow with their shoes on, I think I would have to take them back outside for a "courtesy adjustment". :Q

I think when we build a new home (400 yrs from now), the rule will be shoes off before entering the house.

People can come in. I have this magic inventin called a 'vacuum cleaner'....i tend to take mine off though cuz its more comfortable.

If you think about it it's pretty nasty dragging in the grime off the street.

Especially when you have a toddler crawling and licking everything in front of him/her.

I can do whatever I want with my shoes in my own house. If my friends come over, they can leave them on or take them off as they please. It's not like your feet really get dirty walking up the sidewalk...

I usually take my shoes off inside cause it's more comfortable.

Those magical cleaners don?t work when you live in a winter climate with carpeting and strangers walk around the house with slush.

On, I think it's rude to expect people to take off their shoes in your house. Of course its different if the shoes are really dirty, tracked in mud or snow or something. I like my shoes being off, but I wouldn't think of expecting someone to do it.

After entering the house, I take off my shoes as it's more comfortable. While going to the kitchen floor is cold, so I put on my shoes to keep my feet warm.
At my uncle's house we have the choice to remove our shoes near the front door or keep them on. He doesn't mind at all.

Shoes off! We don't have carpet except in bedrooms and family room. But if you feel like wearing something, we have in-house slippers for you to wear.
