Who do ya reccomend?

Sorry, im a little slow today... Dont mind the fedex at the top of the poll, im an idiot 🙂

I'd go with FedEX personally, as UPS put a forklift fork through the box containing my father's MIA when he shipped it back to SA for some repairs.

In all honesty, just insure it for it's value and pack it well. Either courier should be fine.

Fedex, without a doubt.

I shipped a PC via Fedex for under $60 (two large boxes, neither of which would fit in either the back seat or the trunk of my Accord). Shipped on Monday, arrived on Friday.

UPS wanted $90 & would have taken two weeks.

I haven't had problems with either... but i'm used to Fedex.. so I'd say them. Although Fedex won't deliever to me if no one is home. UPS leaves the package on my porch... don't know which is better... but I hate it when I miss my package from Fedex... I live in a pretty safe neighborhood.. so no problems with packages getting left.

imho ViperGTS doesn't know what he's talking about.

AphexII, unless you have a business account with FedEx or have lots of $$$, go with UPS Ground. Reason being that you have to be a registered business to ship FedEx Ground Also, both UPS and FedEx air service will cost a lot to ship a package that big.

UPS Ground delivery time is distance-based. It'll probably take 5 business days at the longest to ship a package from your location.

FYI... Dell, the largest pc company in the country, uses UPS almost exclusively to ship their packages.

Edit: Fixed some grammar.

<< NOT UPS
I had nothing but problems with them

From what I gather, AmRoD, you only had 1 experience with UPS. That involved someone from the US sending a package to you and you having to pay brokerage fees. Yeah... I can see how UPS caused that problem

. Don't blame someone else for your dumbassedness.

Actually, according to the Fedex website... You pay an extra $1.15 to have residential ground... Im heading over there now so i'll post when i find out if you need a business acct... Thanks for all the help...

Fedex. I heard that UPS just throws stuff around. Personally, I haven't had any problems with them, but for something as delicate as a computer, you should use Fedex. Hope this helps.

I shipped mine using Residential Ground, without a business account. I had to drop it off at the FedEX hub though.

UPS for me has destroyed more packages than FedEx.
UPS ground is fastser than FedEx ground.
FedEx next day and second day is cheaper than UPS.

Both will not always reimburse you for the total of the package contents price. They will drag it on and on. Rarely, do they pay you quickly. Even more rare is that they pay you the full amount. Most of the time, they'll blame it on packaging even if it is packaged correctly.

Take it from someone who ships at least 25-30 monitors and 15-20 computers a day.

$19.20 to ship a 50 pound package with 1500 in insurance to a residental home in 3 days. Pretty damn good if ya ask me.

<--- Loves FedEx now... 🙂

Hey genius, I actually shipped a package using residential ground without a business account. So I think I would actually have some clue what I'm talking about.

D'oh!

I didnt have a business account either, she didnt even ask if i did or not... They were actually ALOT friendlier there then at my local UPS location (right next door). Screw UPS, im stickin with Fedex now.
