Let's see if there's an overwhelming correlation here...

EDIT>> I'm willing to bet the first and last options get the most votes.

1600x1200 @85hz on my Nokia 21" and 1024x768 @ 60hz on my sony LCD... no glasses or contacts.

I'm not sure what happened.
No change in hardware, just one day, 1280x1024@85 became hard on my eyes. Little blurry, a bit too small.
Been at 1152x864 ever since that day. I've had glasses since I was eight though.

Edit: Viewsonic A90 19" CRT for the monitor.

1280x960 at home on 19" CRT, 1152x864 at work on 17" CRT

-7 nearsighted in both eyes, wear contacts.

1280 x 960 on my 19" crt. I wear glasses but not when I'm on the computer. I'd go up to 1600 x 1200 but I like a high refresh rate and on my viewsonic, that higher res only gives me a refresh of 75 hz.

I've had higher than that res for years and I wear contacts, however, my eyes have been like this since before the home computer.

1600x1200 with contacts
I could have it on 800x600 and not be able to read anything without my contacts

Wheres the 1600x1200 + option?
I dont know how anyone (heavy PC users) survive on anything less.

20/20+ vision here.
