POLL: Refresh Rates

Possibly been done before but it's time for an update....

With my triniton that just died I was at 1024 x 768 85hz or 100hz....I liked to vary it....because I am mad....now am running 640 x 480 @ 70hz until my new TFT arrives!...and XP keeps moaning!

Some people don't seem to be bothered with refresh rates, but anything lower than 85hz and my eyes feel like they are going to start bleeding. I just can't handle it.

Yeah when it comes to CRT's, 60hz and I can only look at it for a short time.....75hz is OK but it has to be 85hz or better to be comfortable.

1152x864@85 Hz at home on 17" CRT, 1280x1024@85 Hz at work on 21" CRT. Anything less than 75Hz gives me a headache and makes me dizzy.

I just changed mine from 60hz to 85hz and I notice a difference. I've done it before but I forgot about it. Now that I've done it and then on the start menu I click on an internet explorer window and it comes up, I can actually see it coming down the monitor. Is that a bad sign? I think its my video card probably since the monitor is pretty nice. I'm using an ATI Radeon *VE* 64mb *SDRAM*. Yeah, that sucks, I know. Hopefully, a 9500 Pro or a 9600 Pro depending on how it does will make a difference, hehe

I was running 60 hz for a while, I'm using 85 now. My image shakes every now and then at this setting though. Kind of sucks....well this monitor sucks.

Depends what res I run my Viewsonic A90 at:

1600x1200: 70hz
1280x1024: 75hz
1024x768: 85hz

Desktop res is 1280x1024, the other two are used depending on the game. IE, 1600x1200 is for Half-Life, 1024x768 is for mode demanding games.

1280x1024 @85Hz It's all my lil KDS 19" will go 🙁 It can do 1600x1200@75Hz tho, it's too small for a 19" monitor

1800*1440 @ 90hz right now.
I also use 1600*1200 @ 100hz a lot.
For games, I use whatever the highest possible resolution is, so refresh is usually 100 (16*12) or 75 (2048*1536).

800x600 @ 120Hz. The monitor supports 144Hz at that resolution, but it seems support for it is limited.
