POLL: Real or Fake image?

tough to tell when it's so low res, but the smoothing underneath the rear wheel is suspect (though it could just be jpg smoothing).

I think the good pastor Tim is lying to ya.

edit... On another note this page is kind of interesting from his page, though I suspect a lot of it is rumors and not true WWII facts

I'd believe it was real jsut because there are some seriously stupid people in this world that would try that.

Not sure, while it looks as though the car had something on the back, noted from the front being pushed up.

However that looks like string around that lumber. And well I just don't think string would be strong enough to
hold that load up. It would need rope atleast.

My guess is that is just overloaded with the concrete in back.

that pic looks so fake. i dont' care what that site sez.

first of all, the rear fender looks photoshopped (though i don't see a reason why if you're just trying to tuck the wheel under the wheel well).

second of all, with all the weight, so little rope tying it down, and at that angle the load is on, the lumber will come flying off at any low speed.

thirdly, if you look closely at front and then the rear, it looks like the rear is sloped inwards. hard to explain, but if you picture the car from above, it looks like an upside down trapezoid.

If you read the snopes site, you'll find that the strut towers actually "imploded"(?). I'm sure this would've distorted the rear quarters on the way, causing some of the "innacuracies" you stated.

As for the load staying intact....All I can say is that is one strong rope. It's not impossible for it to hold that load, but still far from "adequate".

Also, all that weight would surely pop the glass out on at least one of the windows in the rear of that car yet the doors and glass look normal.

It is suspect.
