I prefer a real tree. But, I have an artifical one. When I buy my own house, I will go back to real trees.

Real for us. Of course, getting ours this year was a bit of a challenge. The place my parents have bought them for 30 yrs was closed, so we had to go elsewhere. Found a "Cut your own, any tree $20" place not too far from home. Of course, it was raining lightly, and after cutting the tree, I was SOAKED. Still worth it. Looks like we'll be putting it up this weekend at home. Can't wait for classes to be out so I can enjoy the smell.

The best "Cat vs the tree" incident happened with my sister's cat in her apartment. She's got a fake tree, and one year, she put it up in front of one of the surround sound speakers. She was playing one of those "nature CD's" with all the wildlife sounds. Well, this particular CD had birds chirping on it, and guess which speaker it came out of. I guess Payten (the cat) started to slink up towards the tree, and my sister had to make a diving grab before she attacked the tree

Can't bare those plastic things, and actually I quite enjoy vacuming up 1000's of little pine needles when all is said and done

If I had one, it would be an artificial tree. Again, the cats. Can't have a tree and don't want to get rid of the cats. What's a person to do?:frown: -kd5-
