Poll: Re Use of Numeric Keypad on Keyboard

Infos

Diamond Member
Don't ask me why, but for some reason lately I've been trying to use the numeric
keypad on my keyboard. I can't really get the hang of it
and wonder how many people actually use it??😕
Vote early, and vote often😉

I voted "yes." If you use your keyboard to do a lot of math, you're better off using the keypad.

Oddly enough, your phone has a mirror image keypad. The "1" on the phone is where the "7" is on the keyboard, and so on.

I can use both without looking at pretty high speed. Kind of weird.

When doing any kind of data entry that involves a lot of numbers you learn to love that keypad 🙂.

The numeric keypad is my savior. I don't have a real one on my laptop and it drives me NUTS when I type in numbers. :|

Depends... if I'm typing numbers alongside letters like in a post here, I use the row right above the keys, naturally. If I'm balancing my checkbook, the keypad.

If I'm not doing something that involves a lot of numbers I will move to the keypad but if not I'll use the numbers below the F's s I type properly so it doesn't slow me down much. Taking my hands off the keyboard slows me down!

If I'm entering a lot of numbers, I use the numeric keypad. If it's just a few, I use the row across the top of the keyboard.

Same here. 🙂

I use numeric keypad for typing a lot of numbers like entering data into excel or something. But I find that typing on the numeric keypad is easier. I still find it harder to the numbers correctly on the number row beneath the F's, I always end up typing the wrong number, but I'm too lazy to shift to the numeric keypad.

I can (and do) use it without looking. But my speed isn't that fast because I don't use it enough to get much faster.

I have to look at the phone though, otherwise I get mixed up as it is backwards from the keypad. (shows you which one I use more 😉)

I always use the numbers underneath the F buttons. I can't remember using the numeric keyboard.

For casual, non-frequent number input I'll use the row inder the f-you keys. For excesive number input, I'll use the number keypad.

I move back and forth, if I am typing 1 or 2 numbers in a sentence, I just use the numbers keys at the top of the keyboard. However, I tend to move over to the keyboard for most othe numeric entry.

I use it all of the time. I have to program for one of our stations, and I can do it about 10x (seriously) faster with the keypad. I just wish that they would make it the same as the phone (or make the phone like the keypad).

Oh well.
