Poll: Rasheed Wallace or Kenyon Martin??

So, who is the better of the two?? both have had problems with temper etc in the past (tho kmart has probably dealt with it better) they average pretty close to the same points and similar in boards (tho lately KMart has been better). Kmart has a better mid range / inside game, Rasheed a better mid range / outside game. KMart is more athletic, can run the floor better and is probably the better defender, (Kmart D's up smaller guys better than any 6'10" guy i've ever watched).

in all honesty, i haven't really watch Rasheed play all that much.

Rasheed has range all the way out the three point line. K-Mart's range is only about 10-15 feet, although K-Mart makes up for it with his athleticism.

i voted "about the same", until i see more of Rasheed.

I'd say Martin because he's more aggressive and has more power. Rasheed is very athletic and has a great jumper and touch, but he is not aggressive enough IMO.

Kmart is averaging 18 ppg and 9.8 rpg this season. that's pretty high on the rpg. if he gets that up to 10 and he can average a double double, that's a very significant stat. not may PF's average 15+ ppg and 10+ rpg. Wallace has never average more than 8 rpg, he's never been a boarding monster (NOT one of detroit's needs btw).

right now, i'd say Kenyon is the better of the two.

Rasheed is definitely the more talented offensive player. He has a great post-up game, and can hit 3s without a problem. Kenyon is really only good for shot blocking and dunks (not saying that is bad though), and Rasheed can have games where he had 5-7 blocks sometimes himself.

If I had to pick which one I'd want on my team though, I'd pick Kenyon, because he seems to have a cooler temper and won't get himself thrown out of games when his team needs him most!

Rasheed should be a rebounding machine at his height. I would say Martin has the toughness and athleticism that Rasheed lacks but Rasheed has the 3-ball and is a better post-up player. I voted for equal.

one thing i have to wonder, is if Rasheed's game is on the decline.

granted, Zach Randolph has been playing awesome this season.

if i had a choice between the two, i would pick Kenyon because of his youth. however, their games seem to be different.

About the same b/c they have slightly different style of game. Rasheed is a better shooter of course and can take his guy outside and hit the long jumper if need be. Martin has more power down low and is a better defender. I don't think their tempers factor into it, although Martin is probably the calmer of the two.

I think Rahsheed is way more talented than kmart; Rasheed has a really nice touch and can light it up easily but he doesn't have kmart's intensity. It's easier to get someone to play at higher intensity level than to get someone to 'play' better. Kmart numbers are higher cause he's playing with kidd and generally unselfish team, I'm sure kmart's number would dramatically decrease if he played with the blazers ..

you mean scoring right?? you don't know what would happen to his rebounding.

also, something no one else is addressing, i'd take Kenyons D over Rasheeds D ANY day. that is the one are where i think there is no competition, just like Rasheeds touch is unquestionably better than KMarts.

KMarts youth obviously works in his favor over rasheed also.

K-mart

'Sheed has the raw talent to be an awesome player. Nice stroke, can nail the 3, size to score and rebound in the low post but he is lazy, doesnt play D, and doesnt step up his game and act like a leader. Total waste of talent.

K-mart has the ability to slash and dunk and has a decent midrange jumper, but he plays with a lot of passion and has the benefit of kidd passing to him.

If sheed wasnt so lazy, he would definitely be the better player though.

My vote goes to Rasheed. He has a better all around game(offensively) but does lacke the aggressiveness on defense. Kenyon is more athletic and a much better defender, but his jumpshot is broke and his shooting range is limited. ooh yeah.....Rasheed also has that cool white birth mark on his head. 🙂

OMG, it shouldn't even be a contest, Rasheed Wallace when he's not being an a$$. (And I've seen both play extensively.)

since the Nets and Pistons are EXTREMELY likely to meet in the ECF this year (sorry pacers, i'd like to see you guys win at least 1 playoff series first), i'd say we could judge then. 🙂

i'd take rasheed, i think he's so much more skilled. plus, he was nearly unstoppable against the lakers in the playoffs a couple years back, while kenyon totally choked in his playoff series against the lakers. in the 4th quarter, i'd rather have the ball in rasheeds hands than kmart's.

yeah, rasheed WAS unstoppable against the lakers in the 2000 WCF, UNTIL the last 5 minutes of game 7. damn, the blazers blew it big time back then.

That was on of the greatest game ever...that and the rober horry shot over the kings 🙂
<--if you're a lakers fan anyways🙂

Both are cancers, but I think KMart helps his team more overall (defensively #1, fast break, finishing)... Tho Sheed is better in one on one situations and has a better jumper and is a go to guy in clutch situations.

ya, that about sums it up. i'm not sure KMart is so much the cancer tho. he seems to try pretty hard and his energy seems to contribute.
