For the fake bake detesters out there, gradually building up a tan from a tanning bed is much less harmful than going on vacation to a tropical island and exposing your pale, virgin flesh to the intense tropical sunlight.

Tanning itself isn't that harmful. Burning your skin from tans is bad. Also, if you naturally have a higher amount of melanin in your skin you will not burn as easily as someone who has paler skin. The less easily you burn, the lower chances you have of skin cancer.

I'd go with no tan lines. Personally I don't like bleach white skin, and I don't like a real dark tan. Just skin with a nice tone. Goddamn I'm picky! :p

i don't think it matters...

tanning salons are not much safer than real tanning, there are still risks in terms of the skin cancer and wrinkles...

i don't care what color women are, tanned or not... so, whatever floats your boat... or your husband's...

but if you do get a tan... i think if you use some paint and paint some simple design somewhere, and have that area not be tanned would be interesting... remember in police academy when what's his face did that to that lieutenant... you know "DORK" =P...

don't get burned =)

Man...there are a lot of people who go for the pasty-white look. I never would have thought so. Must be all us computer geeks who never see the light of day simply want a woman who "matches." :p

Well for my two cents.....I prefer a light-medium tan (no overly baked stuff though). Otherwise, go natural. Tan lines suck...expecially on the chest (make them look smaller or deformed).

Now we all know what the REAL question is (though it may not be appropriate to ask):
Hair or no hair?

Or, I don't know ....maybe some of you guys like a pasty-white women who is covered from head-to-toe in thick, bushy grizzly-bear fur. Any takers?

Write something on yourself with suntan lotion:

Just below the belly button: I'm with harry and then perhaps a little arrow pointing down?

Don't know if your tanning solon has these or not, but my girlfriend usually puts a small sticker ...ahem *somewhere* to judge her tan. She usually goes for the dolphin or playboy bunny sticker. I think those stickers are cute :)

I prefer no tan line, unless you're really darkened. Then it's sort of too shocking. Like something is actually wrong with the untanned areas.
