Dreamcast is the one to get for now. With the VGA adapter, the graphics are hard to beat. I am not aware that PS2 is going to have that capability. The games are much cheaper. Most PS2 games are $50 +. Most DC games are $10-40. I would buy the DC now and then see what the PS2 does by this time next year.

Dreamcast and Jet Grind Radio, all the way!!!

I use my DVD player for DVDs, not my PS2!

If you seriously think DOA2 looks better on PS2 than Dreamcast, it must be because of the TV!

Jeez, this thread is a little one sided, now isnt it... BUT RIGHTFULLY SO. Dreamcast rocks so hard, I just got Phantasy Star Online to test, and it is SWEEEEEET. The game is just awesome. Couple that with the best sports games in the biz, Grandia 2, Skies of Arcadia, Shenmue, a huge fighing library with 10+ excellent fighting games, and the most loaded race set of any console, and you have the tops in console gaming.

Lets Playstation 2 games are crap right now. Dreamcast actually has games worth paying money for. Now if I were a betting man, I'd put my money on neither. The PS2 will be getting a ton of support for the first few years, then developers and consumers will realize its not all its cracked up to be. Right now it only have 2 or 3 really "good" games and there aren't a ton more on the horizon. The Dreamcast is great now, but it just don't have enough market share to hang on with the initial onslaught of the PS2. Its gonna die a slow death, but that death isn't too far away. If you must get one, get the DC.

A lot of people are saying that PS2 doesn't have any "good" games out yet. What constitutes a "good" game?

DC. I own a DC and PS2.

The dreamcast has better games, is only 149(soon to be cheaper), comes with a modem, has SNES emulators, an NES emulator, GB emulator, Neogeo pocket color emulator, MP3 player, VCD player, and you can download every game and burn it if you do the warez thing.

You what's ironic.....the whole Sony-Sega thing mirrors nVidia-3dfx in many ways.

I dunno tho.....Sega is losing so much money so fast, it might as well be called Sega.com ;)

The DC has good games in almost every genre, which is key to success...but with Nintendo selling more software than anyone (this counts gameboy software) and Sony selling the most hardware (PSOne is top selling system and PS2 supply just can't even come close to demand), Sega seems to be stuck right in the middle.

Considering how much in the red Sega really is, the "middle" is not good enough.
