I think that the combo of Karyia and Selenne in Colorado will overpower the Bruins (who finally have a goalie of note) in the finals.

Yeah... But with Potvin in Boston, who's going to backstop the Avs?

Surely you don't think that Aebischer can win a Cup?

I'm a huge Wings fan and as much as I'd like to say it will be them, I have a feeling about Ottawa.

Pre season is hard to predict the winner, but so far with the added power colorado have, I'd be stupid not to vote for them. Their only weak point is the goal tending. We'll see how they handle that.

BTW, this is vote for who will win the stanley cup, not vote for your favorite team.

Let's Go Red Wings! :D

I think the Wings have a very good shot. With their incredible D and Hasek in goal, they should be able to do it.

It WON'T be Colorado unless they upgrade in goal.

Goaltending will not be THAT bad in Colorado. The way I see it in the West is you will have Dallas, Detriot, Colorado at the top as usual and then Vancouver and Anahiem keeping it interesting. In the East I see NJ and Ott being the "favorites" and Boston getting a comeback after last years tail off at mid season due to flagging goaltending.

Coolest deal of all is Anahiem lost Kariya but got Federov so to me its a wash if not a better deal for Anahiem, but just barely. Colorado now has the Most of the best forwards in the league.... hello... talk about power... Whats cool in Boston is now a really good young team who only lost one marginal winger in Stumpel in the off season and gets the "confidence" factor back in goal, and if you recall they were THE top team for the first half of last year when they actually thought they had a goaltender........

So
West Finals is

Colorado Avs beating Ducks

East Finals is;

Bruins beating NJ Devils

I can't believe people aren't picking Dallas. They had a very strong team last year and their goalie is just getting more experience.

Last year, more than ever we saw how important goal keeping was in the payoffs. Giguere was Anaheim's run.

Colorado no chance without a premier goalie and they aren't getting one.
Detroit or Dallas versus Ottawa or NJ

Edge goes to Detroit and NJ because of their keepers.

And then edge goes to New Jersey because of their average age.

So new jersey over detroit in the finals.

Right, but replacing a good non-offensive D-man is a lot easier than replacing the best goalie on the planet for the last decade.

We lost Hatcher though...that's a huge blow to our team...I don't care how you look at it. Detroit only got better with him going over to Detroit.

It's funny...we offered him more money a couple years back than he got in his contract from Detroit...he was holding out for more money...traitor

I hope the Avs will win, but I'm slightly biased. Realistically it's a tossup between New Jersey, Detroit, Ottawa and Colorado.

Hard to say Hasek won't be leading his team into the final 4 at least... but Colorado has a LOT of firepower... their PP on paper is scary.

... BUT SOMEBODY HAD TO VOTE FOR THE CAPITALS. :)
