but do you disagree with my point regarding glavine? actually, ya this thread was supposed to be about Tom Hanks, but then glavine came to mind as being similar.

diehard Braves fan too. Also killed me when Maddux left 🙁

But yea, Glavine wasn't a prototype pitcher but he had the stuff to get the job done well.

I'd have to examine his platform and take a look at what actually qualifies him for the job. He'd also have to hold a lesser public office first to demonstrate his competence.

nah, didn't bother me a bit when maddux left. to me maddux was always just a hired gun. glavine came out of the braves sytem. he was THE brave that defined their run in the 90's and also defines the braves success or lack thereof in the World Series.

Like glavine the braves of the period were overachievers. good but not great.
