Thnx pm4eva.... I'm trying to justify the $200 price for IPB forum. Even though were advised against by FFMCobalt.

I'm setting up a forum, which is part of a web site that in a way similar to eBay, but free, and using forums as a way for people to exchange their "junks", and heatware as a valid member validation service.

Hey, if you have the time, visit and let me know as far as structure wise, is it sound. The forum is just there, and I don't have anything to it yet, just the basic, and am still messing around with admin stuffs.

Both Planethzl.com and Yagt.org use invision and it works well. However, as I said earlier, I think the admin panel of phpBB is setup better.

Decent layout, but I would change the default skin. Furthermore, I hate the term "junks."

Oh... this is just the basic install, I know nothing about IPB two days ago 😀. Will definitely change a lot around. Junks is more of a slang word, I think it's catchy enough that it will stick.

phpBB = better admin control panel

IPB = upload built in, MORE admin control, an ARCADE hack

pretty much anything for phpBB can be found in IPB or be installed as a hack

I'll be using phpBB for my sites, because at this point of the game I want to support Free Software and Opensource over heavily commercialized products. Okay, and I'm poor too.

The nice thing about most opensource stuff is that if it breaks, there's a million people out there willing to help you... but you still have to fix it yourself which makes you LEARN about it.

It is free but I believe there is no support.

I'm not sure why cr4zymofo insists on paying $200 for "forum support" which may or may not help him out.

He could use that $200 for 1.5 years of web hosting instead.
