I see no problem with it. The entire world economy functions like this so why should here be any different? Obviously I would buy it directly from hot deals for the better price if I could.

I see no problem with it as long as there in't a total quantity limit on the HD. If the people that are buying extra precent someone from getting in on the HD, then they need to die.

If people are doing that, you should feel no qualms about posting a link to the hot deal thread in their FS/FT thread and let their buyers decide if they want to help someone make a profit. I'm not an experienced FS/FTer but I don't think that forum is there for people to make a profit, it's there to provide the dual benefit of helping people offload their old equipment while their buyers save some money.

I think it also goes against the "spirit" of the hot deals forum, which is there to help other people get hot deals. When you go to a store and buy out their entire stock of hard drives that are marked down, I don't think that's what the hot deal community is about. With this Dell deal they definitely did limit the quantities, so people certainly did miss out on the deal because of the resellers. I also think the somewhat unethical way people handle these things (i.e. returning it for a full refund if they can't resell it) makes companies less willing to offer deals like that in the future.

I can't believe so many of you wankers have a problem with this. There's nothing wrong with it at all. It's not even shady. The real problem is whiny bitches who are mad that they lost out on the deal.

Viva capitalism!!!

If you are so concerned with what happens to your stuff after you sell it then maybe you shouldn't have sold it. Duh! You made the deal and you were happy enough with it at the time so stop your bitching.

I have no problem with it if the seller has one or two extra items from a HD. But, I hate it when some jerk wipes out a store of a sale item then resells them. It's just rude, and is close to violating the vendors rule of FS/T.

I think it is perectly ok. It is a capitalistic society and if somebody is willing to pay a high price than the seller should be allowed to sell it at that high price.

I have only done this in one case, i caught that 400SC w/3.2C deal a while back and took the 3.2Cs and resold the parts on ATOT, i didnt gouge though, charged only $225 for everything. (they were around $440 with the chip). I thought of it as upgrading both of my P4 PCs for $400 to top of the line chips :)
