Why not? Especially on those Dell deals, I'm sure some of us who missed them are fine with buying them from FS/T.

It's like cutting someone off in traffic...it may be legal, but society frowns on it.

Why?

I can understand it on eBay to make a profit. But I would never buy something on FS/FT when I could take advantage of the same Hot Deal.

But if you missed out on the deal or are from Canada, and the seller doesn't rape you - then I suppose it's ok.

Ross, there are a lot of us who don't have the time to keep track of the hot deals and when we miss out it is better to buy at a discount on FS/FT or Ebay than pay retail. Not as good as your system, but we don't all necessarily have the choice.

i think it s fine since a person who might have missed the deal can still save some money rather than paying full price.

why not? If people are willing to buy it from FS/T, that means either

1) they're not able to get in on the deal
2) they were too slow

Sure once in awhile there will be someone that is an asshole and buys way more than necessary, but buying a couple extra to make a profit isn't a big deal. And the way I see it, as long as you're still paying well below retail, in other words as long as its still a good deal, then you have absolutely nothing to bitch about.

I don't have a strong opinion about this but
1. I don't resell any items.
2. I don't much like it when people do as I don't believe that Hot Deals is about providing income for members.
3. I, however, can't stop the greedy, self-serving bastidges who scarf up the deals and ruin it for the individual buyer who posted the deal in the first place - oops! maybe I do have a strong opinion about this. (Allisolm scampers off to vote for "Die in a Fire.") :)

as long as they sell it cheaper than what you can get on ebay, I don't see a problem with it and have done it before myself.

I don't mind it if it's a good deal but the people who price gouge, because it's a hard to find item, make me sick. Just my opinion.

I buy/sell on FS/FT because I can get better prices than ebay without dealing with most of the hassles (snipers, price gouging on shipping, spam from nigerians)

FS/FT is a place to unload stuff that you can finally admit you won't use anymore, maybe to make some money back from the upgrade you just did to justify buying new hardware or something... Not to make a profit. At least to me that's the way it is.

"DIE IN A FIRE..." it is.
