I expect humans to behave like humans. For a reality check for realistic expectations for human behavior review the last 3000 years of human history.

Anybody that has faith in humans alone are crazy. People are inherently greedy, selfish, and power seeking. God help us all!

If we go by the negative sensationalistic media, then humanity is a 3.

If you go by how people in this world care for their families and relatives, that number goes up substantially.

We aren't perfect, but there's an innate goodness/nobility in us that can even surprise ourselves given the right circumstances.

that depends, faith in humanity to do what? honestly i don't have faith that humanity will ever reach the point where the vast majority of people are intelligent free-thinking individuals, if that's what you mean.

The media concentrates on bad news and people doing bad things. You will get a biased vew of humanity if you base your evaluation on what you hear, read, or see in the media.

I voted a 4. i hve seen some good things happen to people in the past, but just lately in the past couple years thingshaven't been all that good. They could be a whole lot worse I know, but I tend to think that human nature is selfish. I do however know some really good decent people that I hope others will be more like.

I voted 8. I think humans can change, as we always have, and we haven't biologically evolved as fast as technologically and sociologically (psychologically too).

I mean, just look at the way things are run now compared to how they were run during the Middle Ages or before the Greeks. Great things have been happening to humankind in the past 2000 years, and the past 200 years, and now with the internet another age is coming in.

I was thinking 10, but then I realized that we will probably never fully evolve to the extent to understand the world - we can't do so while we're alive at least. Then I thought about giving humans a 9, but I realized we're probably not moving quite as fast along as we should be. People thought we'd have flying cars by now, and a unified world, but it looks like the Third World countries are still in chaos, and the rest of the world just keeps looking on. So, 8. It'd be silly to push human beings down just because of what's been happening in the world lately. Just because of 1 president and Osama bin Laden (2 people) we should be taken down a notch? Nah.

I voted a 2. The reason why is that in my 20 short years on this planet I have run into so many idiots, d!ckheads, aholes and losers. The number of genuine people I have known can be counted on my fingers. The sad thing is that a couple of them as they got older have degraded.

Young people especially really make me think humanity might turn into an utter sh!thole ala MTV.

However, the #1 problem with humanity is that as an entity it has a complete lack of understanding of logic. In fact I would argue that people are the only illogical things in the entire universe. Everything else follows laws of physics(known and unknown) or probability. One glance at the number of people in casinos, the average knowledge someone has or the government of ANY country and it is apparent that humanity really sucks. My main strategy in life is to surround myself with logical and goodwilled people, and shut out the cacaphony of all the little idiots who live their lives by shaping themselves into things that they believe other people will want to see.
