I've had a few recent events that have seriously taken my faith in human nature down a few notches. Just curious if others have become as completely cynical and jaded as I have.

Each one of us is only one person. We cannot solve the worlds ills.

I just take me and the people I care about into consideration. The rest of the world can fsck off.

With that philosophy I am not jaded nor cynical.

The more people I meet, the more I wish I hadn't.

As of late I have also been feeling a declined faith in humanity. But there are still a bunch of good people out there, somewhere.

Don't be a cop.
Trust me, I'll flip burgers before signing up at the academy.

I'm not even a cop yet and I have seen enough to make most people lose faith in humanity. A friend of mine who worked in the violent crimes division of a large city has told stories of things he's seen, which would make the Pope lose faith in humanity.

I would too if he were a little more liberal with the flyswatter. ;)

I'm down to a 7. I've always been a rather optimistic person but more and more people are working on grating on my nerves. I hate seeing the type of people you typically see on Cops. The ones who don't contribute ANYTHING to society. They sit in their hovels and suck down welfare checks and foodstamps. And it seems the # of those people are growing. People are getting too lazy and expect things to be done for them.

And, in the line of work at my new job, I see people who are in trouble with the law. It's the same people coming in over and over and over and over and... 24th conviction of possession of drug paraphernalia, bad checks, DUIs, etc.

1: People are complete crap.

Thats why sometimes its welcomed news when I hear of an animal attack,
a bit of payback for animals world wide.

I voted for 10 to skew the results since i think this will be one sided

I voted a three. The more I read the news the more I realize how much the world is going to hell in a handbasket. Truly a sorry state of affairs. Thankfully, every now and then I see some people do have redeeming qualities otherwise I would have voted a one.

The world is doomed. We are the most destructive creatures on Earth. What more is there to say?

Galt's trolling in P&N get to you too? ;):p

I have amazing faith in what humanity can do. IMO, we can do anything. Now what we will do, that's a much different story. Put me down for a "7"

I've always been nice to everyone and made an effort to give everyone equal treatment. I wore my heart on my sleave. I got burned, used, and my toes got stepped on so many times it's not even funny anymore. I'm convinced most people are only out for themselves (dog eat dog world). Excuse me for being a little jaded. My faith in humanity has dropped to a 3.

"Faith in humanity"... Faith to do what? That's like saying "faith in trees" or "faith in oceans". "Faith in God" refers to a belief in a God whose existence cannot be proven (hence the need for faith).

/glances at the front page still prominently displaying the thread about a drug dealer raping/impregnating his girlfriend's 8 year old daughter

A solid 1 here. :|
