I like both versions, but No Doubt's is getting very much overplayed, thanks to Clear Channel, Inc.

I was debating this in my apartment with 2 friends at like 3:00 am about a week ago! We were all totally wasted and watching the chapelle show.
I love the talk talk version.. i mentioned to them that the lead singer sounded like bryan ferry (of Roxy Music)

Either version is excellent, depending on the mood. The talk talk version is more mellow :)

I usually don't like remakes, but I must say No Doubt definately improved this song.
No they didn't. No Doubt has sucked since their second album.

No Doubt hadn't been heard of until their 3rd or 4th album, Tragic Kingdom... If you are saying that album sucked, then I think it's safe to consider your opinion null and void.
It's never safe to consider my opinion null and void [/quote]

On a side note, I've enjoyed all of No Doubt's albums. They are excellent in their own sort of way, and it doesn't sound like they just released the same album again.
My 12 year old niece believes the same!

What a crock. They barely changed the original, which was a big hit on it's own. Why didn't they take an unknown tune, and turn that into gold? That's what Talking Heads did with "Take Me To The River" by Al Green. Ever hear the original? Yeah, that's what I thought.

It wasn't any sizable hit, like it was when Talking Heads got done with it. I'm willing to bet, almost nobody on this board has ever heard it.

No Doubt should have left the song alone. I hate bands doing sorry remakes of classics. Whats up with Seal's retarded remake of "lips like sugar"????
