Sorry Yakko.

My house was broken into only a few weeks ago. They only hit the bedroom.

Took thousands in jewelry. (Mostly my wifes.)

Yep, they busted open the safe.

(Don't buy your safe at Kmart.)

AndrewR,

It is my mom's house and she does have insurance but I think it has a $500 deductable. I have the receipt for the bike but I am not sure if I still have the receipt for the upgrades I did a couple of years ago. If I can find all the receipts I can probably get about $600.

let's do like some nations/religions do:

a man steals something, they cut of that person's hand/s
a man commits adultery, they cut off........well you know what!

just trying to bring a smile to your face, sorry about your loss!

If I remember correctly, the receipt says it's only $695, right?

Alan's Bicycle Center in Vero Beach? ;) Wonder who you bought that from. :p

I wish you could even find a replacement, but where would one find a hard tail with an Easton E9 front triangle thermally bonded to a 4130 Cromoly rear end.

The perfect formula for destruction on the trails. That's why I still have mine.

We'll find him and drill 1/32 holes in his toe nails and insert lit matches. :|

jonnyGURU,

The reciept says $872 total. The handlebar, wheels, headset and brake upgrade I did is about another $300.

Aw, gee man, that blows goat balls. My brother's bike got stolen. Twice actually. The first was this nice BMX Dyno. The idiot kept leaving it outside the door instead of putting it away, and we'd all say put it away in the garage, but it was stolen before he learned. The next was a black GT Bullet that he got as a hand-me-down from me. After about two years he made some malarky up about it being broken, and instead of asking Dad to take it to the shop, he left it outside, saying that no one would take a broken bike (this is around the time I'm discussing with my dad about getting the bike I have now, so you could figure out he was trying to get his own instead of a hand-me). It stayed there for several months before someone took it. The moron's plan backfired too, now the spoiled brat will never get a new bike from my parents. Weeeeeeeeeeeeellll, to get to the point, since I have a new kickass bike, the old Trek 820 I have for regular commuting is still here and in fairly good shape. If you want it, maybe I could arrange something.

I had a mountain bike for a couple years, starting when I lived on campus. When I moved off-campus, I mostly drove, so the bike didn't get much use. I had it locked up, and finally convinced a frined to take it off my hands. He took it, and THE NIGHT HE TOOK IT HOME, someone stole it from him. Easy come, easy go, I guess. The funny part is, a few months later, I noticed that ANOTHER friend of mine had just bought himself a new bike at a pawn shop here in town....MINE. :) It's actually funny as hell. I know he bought it at that pawn shop, but I always rag him about riding "my hot bike." :)

Sorry about this though, man. Sucks.

WOOHOO!!!! That almost makes it worth the bike getting stolen.

Another thing that really sucks is that I had planned on cleaning my room this weekend but because they broke the window in my moms room and she is out of town for the weekend(boy is she going to be suprised when she gets back) I had to clean her room.:|:|

Well, while GF and I are there we can also put on our little French maid outfits and clean your room for you since you went through such a horrible ordeal. ;)

EDIT: Seriously though, please keep us updated as to whether or not you get your bike back or the thief gets caught.
