i just have to say it's not going to happen, that an oil rig jock will be begged and pleaded by the US government to help destroy an asteroid in space. mymy, what crudentials, this guy can drill mighty fine. goddam, give me a break....

yeah i thought the use of a black president in the film was one of the highlights or more interesting points at least of deep impact.

as for entertainment value, i was tempted to just get up and walk halfway through deep impact, it jsut got way too corny for me. as for armageddon, it managed to hold my attention, even if bruce willis' punk/badass yet honourable attitude was getting repulsive by the end.

to me deep impact was a more realistic film, but armageddon gets my vote

and damn you two, i'm dying to see carnosaur now! :D

DEEP IMPACT is a much better movie than Armageddon. Although it doesn't have too much special effect, its

sotry was much better and much more real. Armageddon was just a movie for the crowd, big actors, big

special effect, simple stories. Deep impact has more depth to it. However i admit that Armageddon is more

entertainning. Deep impact is much more touching.

I didn't see Armageddon because I just wasn't intriqued enough. That's the one that seemed cheesy to me... Deep Impact was plausible and I thought it was a very good and original movie. But that's just me...

I FAR prefer 12 MONKEYS!!!!!

schindler's list - your gf will be crying in your arms. it's my favorite movie, if not one of my top faves.

Emperornero, I would probably have some tears in my eyes too. Something as serious as that is not a date movie. See, I had about 20 relatives murdered by the Nazis during the Holocaust.

I liked them both well enough that I bought them (VHS). Armageddon is good for action, Deep Impact is good for realism. I couldn't choose..... -kd5-

I'm sorry to hear that about your relatives :(

And for what it's worth, I wasn't trying to be morbid when I suggested Schindler's List...I think it would be a good movie to watch with your gf (not on a date of course).
