I wondered whether anyone cared about EITHER of the two options.
Personally I was using triple monitors a long time ago, but haven't had the desk space to care enough to set it up for a few years (used it for racing games, haven't had my wheel out in a long time).
I also have a lazy eye and wear glasses, so I don't care in the slightest about 3D since it's meaningless to me.

So, all (hopefully) possible options should be in the poll, and if you really want, you can begin a flamefest by stating why you use/don't use/have a preference.

Triple monitors for productivity purposes don't count, since that's nothing new.

My ghetto triple monitor setup from a while ago

Triple monitors for me, I play a lot of racing games and the increased sensation of speed is what catches my attention the most.

I have triple monitors. 3x1080p. Racing games are amazing with 3 monitors and FPS if they properly support it.

3D does not interest me too much, what would interest me more is triple monitor 120hz 2D gaming.

Not interested in multi-monitor setup at all - bezels kill the deal. If I am going to increase the size of my gaming monitor, it will be going from a 37 inch LCD to a 54-60 inch Plasma. Perhaps in 5-10 years there will be large 50+ inch OLED monitors with much higher resolution than 1080P. Until then I am sticking with what I have now.

3D gaming on the other hand I am much more interested in. But having to wear glasses is a major turn off at the moment.

P.S. Lonyo, that MX518 mouse is a classic!! Believe it or not I have my Logitech G9 mouse still in the package that I purchased 2 years ago as a backup in case the 518 fails. But haven't even bothered since the 518 keeps rocking for 5 years strong!

I'm still using the same MX518, turned 5 last December IIRC, did have to replace the feet though since they fell off.

LOL@ Using Video Cassette as risers.. Well, they atleast are being put to good use 😛

On topic, I would love to have a triple monitor setup. 3D is not for me.. as it seems to trigger my migraine. :\

i have 3 x 1920x1080 EyeFinity and 3D Vision Surround.

When 3D Vision Surround works perfectly - as in Just Cause 2 - it is spectacular and quite an improvement over 2D Surround or Eyefinity.

i am writing an article on it now and i am still forming opinions as it has only been 5 weeks. i am also starting to bench at 5760x1080. i am unwilling to give up my 2560x1600 30" display neither (which i'd love in 3D).

i am willing to bet that in future you will not have to make a choice. We know AMD is supporting HD3D and it is a natural progression to move to 3D over 3 panels.

Bezels are a minor nitpick.

I just played that Nintendo 3DS portable and it was real cool,so I voted 3D. The bezels with surround set ups is the deal breaker for me.

not dying due to heavy coming around corner > single monitor 3d

the real issue isnt bezels as much as camera fov and hud interfaces. Most games position the meters and icons based on x y coordinates relative to the edges, so all the display elements get stuck out on the periphery.

For real production work, nothing beats more desktop space.

I use 2 monitors occasionally (SupCom & spreadsheets) but I won't use multi-monitor for anything else until they get rid of the Bezels.

Not interested in 3D at all, gives me severe migraines & eye strain after just a few minutes.

I use 2 lg+ 1 samsung 17 inc monitor, with dp to analog converter, and i use hd 6950 2 gb unlocked.

This cost of just $200(for two lg monitor), but its really worth it, especially for FSX, I love flight sim games

Eyefinity for me. Bezels don't bother me as the immersion is still excellent on fun games.

Portal 2 still kicked up my acrophobia at points... and if I didn't "feel" in the game, it'd never happen.

You bezel-phobes, I feel bad for ya. Lots of real estate for less $ is a good thing.

Eyefinity on Samsung md230x3.

Agree with gorobei that HUD info positioned on outer corners is disconcerting: ideally should remain on centre monitor (would require a "reposition HUD" option in graphics menu).

FoV is real nice for spy-catching in TF2, or general's battleview panorama in TotalWar games.

I use neither, am interested in both

I've been using multi-monitor for some time for productivity. Eventually I'm going to match up 3 monitors in a eye-finity configuration. Personally I want 120hz monitors before I look at 3D support. I am interested in 3D but it depends on the costs involved. I'm not going to pay a premium for Nvidia cards just for 3D support.

Have neither, interested in multimonitor setup for racing games/simulations aka GT5/Grid3 or whatever else comes my way.

I run triple monitors, it's great when not gaming so serves two purposes. I've played with 3d before and the effect loses its pizazz after 15 minutes and after an hour I just had no reason to keep the glasses on any more.

I'd like a 120hz monitor anyway so I'll probably end up with 3d if the prices start coming down on both monitors and glasses.

i have a 3d asus monitor and wasn't really digging the 3d. i went back to amd for 3 display eyefinity on my main desktop. i have a computer hooked up to my 3d tv though that i use for 3d movies and gaming with 4 sets of 3dvision glasses for all to view in it's glory 🙂

trip 1080p, and want to replace my middle with a 3d one eventually

or snag the new vizio 32" polarized 3d monitor/tv

They are 2 different setups, one used triple displays, the other use 3D. There are no option for it.

If I had three 1080p monitors, but the middle one was 3D, could I switch in software between the following two modes: (1) 2D surround or (2) 3D on the middle monitor (i.e., NO surround)?

i do this frequently. When 3D Surround is imperfect, 3D Vision on a single panel might be great. Or 2D Surround might work best.

It is all done in a few seconds in the Nvidia Control panel. Kudos to their driver team for making it simple and fast!

I have neither, but said I was interested in 3D. However, after I voted, I realized I was probably interested in both, depending on the game.
