*POLL* Mrs. Tallgeese = MASTERMIND?

Tallgeese

Diamond Member
I come home from work this Tuesday, and find that Mrs. Tallgeese has set on the keyboard in my study...
BEST BUY COUPONS FOR THE PREFERRED CUSTOMER WEEKEND THIS WEEKEND!!! :Q

And on the 10% off anything coupon, she attached a note that read "Thought you might find this useful!" :Q :Q

This may be the most opening I'll ever get from her on a big TV...but, with our second child due in mid-February, there's no way I can purchase something like that right now.

And so, I get this feeling that Mrs. Tallgeese...in a flash of BRILLIANT reverse-psychology...has OUTFOXED me AGAIN!!!

Perhaps she wants you to buy a new keyboard? 😉
Nah...my keyboard is where she always leaves stuff for me to look at.
She knows I'll see it before I start neffing! 😛

what a tease she is!!!

Its a trap i tell you dont fall for it!!

Danger will robinson danger!!

It is a known fact pregnant women are devious, she is testing to see who you care more about, the new babay or your selfish self by buyging a tv hint hint use coupon to buy soemthing for the baby's room.

🙂

Wow...that's pretty funny, at least you have a woman that's cool with playing games like that. 🙂 But what if she really wants a new TV!? :-o

Well...another AT forum member who shall remain nameless *cough* Skoorb *cough* suggested that if an "accident" befell the current TV, perhaps that would be cause enough for a big TV.

Unfortunately, if such a "catastrophe" happened, Mrs. Tallgeese would simply say: "Well, I guess we'll have to move the 13" TV (in our bedroom) downstairs and use it instead."

DOH!

It's a trap don't do it.. 🙂

Mrs "Well you know Tallgeese you did get your TV..."
Tall "Crap now I guess I have no choice but to buy that new car for you..."

Or on the other hand, maybe she just wants to be able to watch it, after the bundle of joy gets here...

I still say it's a trap 🙂

Man, this sounds sooo like my life/wife. Mrs. Amigaman (or would that just be AmigaWoman) said the same thing. Our 27" JVC is on it's last legs and she said if it broke, we'd just move the 19" from the study to the living room and use that. bummmer...

Just get a 49" Plasma. Its not a TV, its a Plasma Screen, that happens to come with a TV tuner. 😉

I think your looking at this wrong, it is not about what you will get out of the deal, it is all about her. One of two things is happening, in either case you lose.

1) She want's something that costs in the $1000 - 2000 range, thus if you get a TV she gets that. Co-Worker was recently allowed to buy a Laptop too easily. Three weeks after purchase of said laptop, he's shopping for a $1000 Stove with all the bells and wistles.

2) She's testing you. As now your life is no longer about you and her it's about the baby first and you in 20 years. As soon as you bring up the idea of buying a TV you will be instantly reminded of where your priorities (According to her) should lie.

Either way I think your in trouble.

There is a third option, but I didn't here you say your wife acted much like Mary in "Something about Mary" where she really does wan't the TV.

She did admit that she SERIOUSLY contemplated simply throwing the coupons away after opening the envelope from Best Buy.

Its a trap, you will hear it if you get the TV and you won't if you don't.

My wife:
"I wouldn't mind having a bigger TV"

I then go get a bigger TV

MY wifes response:
"You weren't supposed to get a bigger TV

"But you said...." Back to BB to return the TV.

Its all games to them, they are evil i tell you....EVIL

This is our second child, BTW (just edited the first post to clarify that).
The idea of anything being about us is LONG gone 😉

I must admit I have tried to leverage Princess #1 for a big TV before.
My parents have a 50"+ TV so my father, who is blind in one eye, can see TV.
The last time we visited (18 months or so ago), I asked Princess several times how much she liked the big TV...to which she enthusiastically replied "I LIKE that big TV, Daddy!" in full earshot of Mrs. Tallgeese.

Been a long time since I saw that flick...I don't remember that part.
