I am another user in the land of sprint, even though phone selection lacks the sero price makes it worth it. I am currently on a Motorola Q. I have been pretty happy with it but could use an upgrade. The only thing that looks promising for sprint so far is the samsung. I still don't understand whyall the nicer phones got to GSM(i.e. AT&T) with more users being on CDMA, it just doesn't make since to me.

EXACTLY. im still on my treo 700p (have SERO as well) and there is nothing compelling out there. gah, stupid sprint. it sucks...i like the mogul, but that is already an old phone and i feel like that would be a sidegrade, besides the wifi and winmo6.

It's because - according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gsm), there are over 2 billion GSM users in 212 countries worldwide. CDMA is used in 13 countries (the USA, South Korea, Canada, Mexico, India, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Venezuela, Brazil, China PRC and Vietnam), GSM is used everywhere else. Even in the countries that use CDMA, nearly all of them have a GSM network too (Rogers in Canada, AT&T + T-Mobile in US, etc.).

As of Q4 2007, 70% of the worldwide cell phone users are on GSM, 30% on CDMA.

at least the apple people are going crazy over a phone you can buy, Xperia fans are drooling and hyping up a phone that isn't even close to being out. NOBODY has even used one, even seen one outside of a few pics. So you want a phone you've never used or held to win, that makes a whole lot of sense.

I hope the X1 turns out to be an epic failure it would serve Ericsson right for the almost 1 year early paper launch they did on it.
