Poll: Monty Python or Mel Brooks

Inspired by the arguments in red dawn's thread.

its time to settle this
ok who's movies are funnier

Personally I choose Python

Mel Brooks, definitely. His stuff is funny any time to me....Python stuff I have to be in the mood for (or incredibly stoned).

Yeah, that would be like taking a poll between Casablanca and Star Wars to see which is the better movie (Casablanca hands down). It wouldn't reflect on the Movie as much as the lack of taste in this Forum.

I like both, though because of rather disparraging (sp?) comments made about Monty Python, I am voting for the english lads in protest.

Casablanca ? good choice ! as to the taste level what was that line of the englishman's ?

"We hear very little, and we understand even less"

Oh and while I liked Holy Grail, I had to cast my vote for Mel ,lol, Blazing Saddles ruled 🙂

For all those who chose Mel Brooks over Monty Python, and are looking for an argument, I can only quote the lads themselves (from the Argument sketch):

DON'T GIVE ME THAT, YOU SNOTTY-FACED HEAP OF PARROT DROPPINGS!

and

SHUT YOUR FESTERING GOB, YOU TIT! YOUR TYPE MAKES ME PUKE! YOU VACUOUS TOFFEE-NOSED MALODOROUS PERVERT!!!

So you would rather spend an evening watching 3 Monty Python Movies instead of 3 Mel Brooks Movies? Scandalous, simply scandalous.

American Humor is funnier.

I'd rather spend an evening with the women of ATOT (well, most of them), and an unlimited supply of whipped cream, melted dark chocolate, and special, battery powered appendages, but only, of course, if baffled2 promised to leave her brown trout at home. 😉

Hey, Mel Brooks is funny, but if you're insane and over the top like I am, then nothing beats insane, over the top English humor. My last name, after all, is Perkins.

Oh I see, you are a dreamer.

LOL,sounds more like film making than film watching there 🙂

Oh ask Girl Friday, the brown trout's like the American Express card, we never leave home without it,besides, to watch Mel Brooks, you need lots of popcorn 😉

<--- waving white flag here-Monty Python fans are cool, I just like Mel Brooks better 🙂

The Producers, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles. Wonderful flicks.

I enjoy Python and get a kick out of their brand of humor. Comparing the 2 seems a bit like comparing apples to oranges.
