I made the choice over 5 years ago.

If you spend any serious amount of time comparing the negatives of each, then you will probably come to the same decision I did.

Weed > Alcohol.
 
Haven't smoked weed in a while but Mary Jane would win by a landslide 😀
Plus, the difference between top shelf alcohol and top shelf weed are enormous. Vodka is vodka and you still feel like crap at the end of then night, but you can't compare the variety and effects of some shag weed to some Purple Haze.

Weed is generally cheaper, especially if you are drinking at a bar. This is especially true if you are buying schwag or mid-grade. Still, a $100 bag of some dank will last me about 2 or 3 weeks, and that's smoking everyday.

No doubt here. Weed is so much quicker, no hangover, and it's impossible to OD on weed.

Also, growing some bud is easy and inexpensive. Making your own beer isn't as easy. For weed, you just throw some seed in the ground during Spring. Even growing indoors can be very inexpensive. Seeds prices can kill you, but you should only have to buy those once.

Get some sour cream and onion chips with some dip, man, some beef jerky, some peanut butter. Get some Haagen-Dasz ice cream bars, a whole lot, make sure chocolate, gotta have chocolate, man. Some popcorn, red popcorn, graham crackers, graham crackers with marshmallows, the little marshmallows and little chocolate bars and we can make s'mores, man. Also, celery, grape jelly, Cap'n Crunch with the little Crunch berries, pizzas. We need two big pizzas, man, everything on 'em, with water, whole lotta water, and Funyons. Then I'll play hockey.

Not really. That's mainly because the group already assembled against pot is comprised of huge corporate companies that have supreme lobbying power.

But in theory it could work right? There are a lot more average joes pro-weed than there are of the big corporate types.
 
Between wine, maker's mark, and beer... I'm hooked.

Marijuana would be nice, but I like to be able to drink with dinner. 😉
