One thing that i think is very funny, but maybe it isn't is that microsoft delivers mice with drivers that will not work in their own OS's... Is this just a stupid thing for the NT4 or are they trying to get people to upgrade??

The most stable OS that microsoft ever made was the NT4 (after 6.5 service packs and some hotfixes) and now they are pushing the VERY unstable W2K...

Go with linux, MSI, Enlight box, Hitachi monitor, Maxtor HDD, Crucial mem and athlon cpu, did i forget anything?? Oh yeah, Pioneer DVD's are the best..

i agree w/ you pcresources. i had an optical ms mouse for a while in nt4, and the drivers sucked big time mainly because of the refresh rate the drivers kept my ps2 port at. for some reason the logitech drivers made the mouse a lot smoother, but when i used to ms mouse with logitech drivers, i would lose wheel functionality. :disgust:

I have the logitech mouseman wheel optical, I like it better than the microsoft explorer.
I find it to be of higher quality. The MS mouse seems a little flimsy in particular with the buttons. My logitech is sweet though, I vote logitech.

logitech's always been my top of the list. i've never really liked the MS mice, the Explorer is nice but it's a little bulky for my tastes. depending on your hand size etc, i've just always loved the quality of logitech, and they really know what they're doing. i recently swapped out my cordless system to a mouseman optical though, the blue light is sweet :)

I've had both brands...MS optical explorer right now...next one will be back to logitech.

I slightly favor logitech as being better.

Logitech MouseMan Wheel because IMHO it has better ergonomics; every M$ mouse I've ever used has irritated the 'ol carpal tunnels.

Call Microsoft, and they will ship you a replacement mouse, even without the receipt.

I have had two Intelli Explorers go on me, on my 3rd.. Cable problem on the mouse side.

MS always helpful in sending free replacements.

I have used a lot of different mice over the years and I have found that Logitech consistently makes the best ones. I'm currently using the cordless Mouseman with wheel and it's great.

Never seen a logitech mouse i hated. Seen plenty MS mouses that suked.

But both brands have their good stuffs. But Logitech has won me over from the beginning, so my vote goes to them.

Edit: BTW, im using a Logitech Wheel Mouse. I'm also using a Logitech RumblePad, which is the best gamepad for a pc i've ever had my hands on. It was damn cheap too.

Where is the "both" option? I use MS's for my primary machine, and Logitechs for my secondary.

I think MS makes better keyboards than Logitech. Haven't found a better keyboard than the MS Internet Pro. I used a MS Intellimouse Exlorer for a few months while I waited for logitech to release a mouseman plus optical. I don't see any difference between the performance of the 2, but I find the Mouseman+ far more comfortable to use than the MS mouse.

I personally think that the quakity of Logitech's mice is higher than Microsoft's. The buttons on the MousemanPro and the paint job/plastic mold last much longer than MS's Explorer.
I don't think I'll be trying MS mices.

I use both. I have a standard MS mouse with the scroll wheel(I think the MS wheel is better because it doesn't click like the logitech). I also use a logitech Marble FX trackball.

Logitech Trackman Marble Wheel on main system and Mouseman Wheel on other system and old Logitech Trackman on backup system.
