With my Litestep theme, the controls are at the bottom. I just got used to it that way.

The windows task bar, though hardly used by me is on the bottom, it looks stupid anywhere else.
My K-Bar for KDE varies, one is on the bottom, one is on the right, one is on the top. It depends on my mood really.

I have a dual monitor setup, I keep it at the bottom of the dominant monitor. I could put it on any side of either monitor.

I have always used the auto hide and always on top feature but I switched from the bottom to the top a couple years ago. I can't remember what program I was using at the time but it caused having it at the bottom to be a pain. Once I switched to the top I realized how much better it was up there.

Ever wonder what the world would be like is MS put it at the top by default? Hmmm...

Top! It makes sense when all other stuff the mouse is handy for is at the top (close,minimize,maximize,menus). As you can tell I am not a KB shortcut junky but with the tastbar at the top I barely have to move my mouse around to meddle with my windows.
