Humm strange I have also been to the lego website.... searched for legos and it only returned occurances of lego.

Lego - singular, it's the name of the toy/company.

A Lego is not the name for an individual brick, I'd never even heard of the plural form before I came on here, must be an American thing

I dropped nothing. If you bother to READ a little, you see I directly cite their website repeately. A little literacy can go a long way.

Also, what's with this american flag crap? I never said you were not entitled to your opinion, but you are either making a patently wrong statement, as proven above or you are not making your position clear. This is based on logic, not nationality.

Yes, very good. The individual bricks themselves are referred to as "Lego bricks," but when referring to a large amount of Lego bricks, the people within the company simply use the plural term, "Lego." The employee I speak of was part of a design team and I'm pretty sure he would know the correct term by which his products were called.

"Legos" was a four letter word, apparently.

So, they created an officially incorrect term, to pluralize the singular Lego. This was because 'lego bricks' was a mouthful. Similarly, everyone else came up with 'legos' -- a more sensible version if you ask me. In any case, it lends no more legitimacy to lego as a plural than lego does.

Assuming your story is accurate, you can either accept both lego or legos as the plural of lego, or accept neither.

SO, fair enough the america dig was a bit low. As you state there is no official plural for lego, the company just call them lego bricks. This leaves the whole mutiple lego question open... On one hand it appears simple, just add an s, but this is not the case. The spelling and defenition of words is completely dependnt on the context they are in. In general (without beign nationalistic) european people refer to mutiple lego bricks as lego in exactly the same way as fish. In other places in the world.. people call lego bricks, legos. Thus showing that either is acceptable. In summation lego, legos I couldn't care less about what you call lego bricks, they will always be lego (singular or plural) to me.
