Rise is the best of the new trilogy. That Byzantine theme is very unique and produces some great environments.
 
I've only ever played 2013, as well as some TR 1/2 wayyyyy back in the day more as a horndog teen than from any sort of gameplay perspective.

As someone who enjoyed 2013 on a controller and is planning to pick up Rise on an upcoming sale, which TR games prior to the reboot series would people recommend a new fan check out that still provide the QOL improvements modern gamers expect while still providing the classic Tomb Raiding experience.
