Mine has both, but im curious which one ya'll prefer to use...
 
touchpad all the way. Mine's placed perfectly, too. I can reach down with my thumb and move the pointer, while keeping my fingers on the keys. Those pointers are freaking annoying.
 
touchpad for on the fly usage...or when I don't like getting all the "stuff" from my case,
i.e. AC cords, mouse, network cables....eh...I look like a dork!

But optimal mouse is really the way to go
 
Kensington mini optical usb mouse! Feels great in the hand and very portable. I guess the touchpad is OK for limited computer usage but gets aggrevating if you have to actively use the computer for several hours at at time.
 
touch pad here. Its not bad you get use to it. Just not so great for some things.

I use the touchpad in an emergency (like when I am jammed in my airline seat and can't find the mouse or am just watching a DVD).
 
docking bay setup like desktop comp. but if i'm remote, then i use the touchpad. i can't stand that stupid nipple in the middle of the keyboard.
 
I like to use the pointer... I always have trouble with the touchpad, it's not accurate enough for me...
