Trays are for short people. Probably the same people that complain that the MX700 is "too big."

i'm 6'... not exactly short.

unless you're not running an adjustable height chair the height from the floor doesn't matter.

I attach my wheel on the keyboard tray, then push it back as far as it will go. The force I put on the wheel make sure it doesnt come out. I also have wireless everything so its easy.

The distance from the floor to the top of my knees is not adjustable. Most desks with keyboard trays do not even allow me to get my legs under them without hitting the tray.

my last keyboard tray didn't survive a particularly frustrating game of Age of Empires 2 a few years ago.

My friends who are over 6' tall can sit at my desk (with a keyboard tray) without problems.

Tray. Mine doubles as a monitor\speaker stand and random junk holder as well and the tray rolls back under the monitor when I don't need the keyboard.

That's very siggable ...

Desk for me. Every single keyboard tray I've tried has always nailed me in the knees when I use it at a comfortable chair height (I'm 6'1" btw).

I like the tray... the actual desk is less cluttered... room for books and stuff, so studying and neffing can be done quite efficiently.

I then thought how much easier this would be without a keyboard tray at all.

So what is your preference, do you like a keyboard tray to hide away your input devices, or do you prefer a desk with no tray, and your keyboard and mouse right there on the desktop for easy access at all times?

First off. it is WAY to early to be getting a Chirstmas present. I am going to have a talk with your little woman. Second ......... well there is no second, you just should NOT have gotten an early Christmas present.

I haven't gotten one. It just isn't fair.
